Response to Intervention (RTI) is a multi-tier system of support. The RTI process begins by providing high-quality instruction to all children then using universal screening to identify struggling students. Identified students are provided with interventions at increasing levels of intensity. While closely monitoring progress, educational decisions about the intensity and duration of interventions are based on individual student's response to provided interventions. RTI is generally defined as a three-tier model, even though the number of interventions can vary based on the school's preference.
