Howdy Y'all!
First and foremost, I love my life.
I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I grew up in a large family, with three older (and much bigger) brothers. It is through them and my mom and dad that I developed my competitive nature. After graduating from the University of Houston with a degree in Education, I began working at a public middle school, co-teaching with my brother! After a few years, I decided to move to a private school in the Houston area.
St. Francis Episcopal School will hold a very special place in my heart. I was given so many incredible opportunities from traveling for two weeks every summer to Costa Rica with some amazing people to numerous professional development opportunities. During my tenure there, I grew tremendously as a teacher. I became confident in my craft. I also met and married my husband and welcomed our first daughter, Briley, while at St. Francis. Shortly after my oldest daughter turned one, my husband's company relocated our family to San Antonio. I was naturally reluctant, but San Antonio is an amazing city! I was able to work at an incredible school, St. George Episcopal. They showed me the importance of community and the value in strong leadership. While in San Antonio, we welcomed our second daughter, Eleanor. Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, we moved from San Antonio back to Houston. While it would not have been our choice to leave San Antonio, it is nice to be back in Houston as a family of 4, with familial support. It doesn't hurt that I was able to find another great school to call home. St. Mark's Episcopal has given me incredible opportunities to grow professionally and the ability to watch my daughter flourish academically.
My husband and I have been married since 2013 and have two beautiful, intelligent and hilarious daughters. When we are not working, our family loves being outside, cooking together and being silly. When I am not with my family, I enjoy coaching and playing volleyball, hitting golf balls and reading books recommended by Reese Witherspoon and Oprah.
We currently have two dogs (Jim and Ranger), who add a tremendous amount of joy (and chaos) to our lives.
